Condition: The Japanese handcrafted wood mask of the renown NOH character OKINA is in good overall condition. The early SHOWA Era (1926-1989) wood OKINA mask was hand carved and hand painted to look old and used. The hand carved hand painted two-piece OKINA mask excluding the horse tail hair beard is about 21.3cm (8 3/8") long and 15.5cm (6 1/16") wide. The total length of the handcrafted wood OKINA mask including the long horse tail hair beard is over 40cm (15 3/4"). The Japanese artisan signed or engraved his name in the mask but we are unable to read the calligraphy. The mask has gofun chips, nicks, marks, loose whiskers, paint repairs, gofun crackage, paint wear, dust, etc.. The photos are accurate.
